From study launch to publication

A multi-year arc spanning two phases of evaluation work, public publications in 2026 and 2027, and a peer-reviewed wave through 2028.

March – June 2026 · Underway

Phase 1: Desk review and secondary analysis

Systematic review of 16 completed WPAs across 9 countries. Drawing on existing evaluation reports, raw datasets, monitoring data, financial records, and ~350 Most Significant Change stories.

August 2026

Phase 1 Report

Public release of the Phase 1 systematic review, accompanied by a lay-friendly summary brief for donors, sector practitioners, and partner organizations.

Late 2026 to early 2027

Phase 2: Field data collection

Primary data collection in six selected countries, including household and institutional surveys, water-point assessments, focus groups, key informant interviews, and matched comparison communities.

Spring / summer 2027 (working assumption)

Phase 2 final report

Comprehensive impact evaluation findings, with cleaned datasets, codebooks, and an external summary brief and presentation deck for partners and donors.

Looking ahead

Sharing what we learn

As we go, and based on our final results, we plan to share the results of the study widely through conference presentations and peer-reviewed journal submissions.
